i18n is not currently supported on Open Library. We hope to bring it back soon!
This page is out of date.
The Open Library interface is comprised of a series of strings that can be translated by users through an innovative wiki interface. You can translate or add any string in any language! Help us build Open Library by improving our translations. NOTE: If a translation for a string is not available, the default is English. This results in a mixed translation until all of the strings for a language are completed (read our tour (?) for more info)
You can see how any translation looks by clicking on the "You are viewing the site in English" link and selecting the desired language from the "Change Language" pulldown menu. This link generally appears in the footer of every page on Open Library. Only translations that are in progress are made available in the pulldown menu.
Change Language:
We have created a list of languages to help you get started ...
If you don't see your language listed here, you can still create it. We use ISO-639-1 as a guideline.
You can also help translate the content for any page. See our Guided Tour for more information.
