Building an HO model railroad with personality
The Jerome & Southwestern : a colorful western layout you can build step by step
by John Olson.

Published 1983 by Kalmbach Books in Milwaukee, WI .
Written in English.

About the Book

The author describes how to build a model railroad (4 ' x 8 ') from benchword, through track and wiring, terrain and scenery, adding structures, locomotives and freight cars, painting your own backdrop, and finally adding a 2' X 6' industrial district and wharf area. If you are not familiar with Olson, he for a number of years worked for Walt Disney's organization and designed and supervised construction of the Thunder Mountain section at the Disney parks in California, Orlando, and Japan.

First Sentence

"PERSONALITY -- even a small model railroad can have it, and that's what I went for in planning and building the Jerome & Southwestern, a bite-and-kick HO Scale Arizona railroad set in a region where copper was king."
