Alzire
ou les Americains. Tragedie de M. de Voltaire. Representée à Paris pour la premiere fois le 27 Janvier 1736. ...

Published 1736 by chez Jean-Baptiste-Claude Bauche in Paris .
Written in French.

Edition Notes

Of the preliminaries the 'A Madame la Marquise du Chatelet' has ornaments used by Henry Woodfall in London, and the 'Discours preliminaire' bears tilded signatures, indicative of Dutch printing; the main body of the work is French, as is the titlepage and the first two leaves of the preliminaries, being the errata and the 'Privilege du Roy'.

The titlepage vignette is a canopy above a pedestal, with an ornamental branch on either flank.
