Anonymous. Now believed to be the work of Lavergne de Guilleragues, but long attributed to Mariana Alcoforado.

"The [five] letters of Marianna Alcoforado (first issued under the title: 'Lettres portugaises') are supposed to have been addressed to Noël Bouton, Marquis de Chamilly." (NUC).
