John Nkemngong Nkengasong is a Cameroonian playwright, poet, novelist and critic.
An origin of the Nweh tribe in the Lebialem Division of the South West Province of Cameroon, Nkengasong was educated at Seat of Wisdom College Fontem and later the University of Yaounde1 where he obtained a PhD and where he is Associate Professor in african and British Literary Studies. He is the current president of the Anglophone Cameroon Writers’ Association.
Drawing inspiration from Nweh culture and the experimental bilingual status of his country, his writings focus on topical societal issues and the traumatic experiences of post-colonialism.
