"Marc E. Vargo, MS is a staff member in the Department of Psychology at Hammond Developmental Center in Hammond, Louisiana, and serves as Chairperson of the Institutional Review Board. An activist in the gay community of New Orleans, he has contributed his services to the New Orleans AIDS Task Force as an HIV Counselor and Co-Chairperson of their HIV Testing and Counseling Program, and has facilitated several support groups for gay men who are HIV positive. In 1992, his book, The HIV Test: What You Need to Make an Informed Decision, was published and distributed in English-speaking nations by Simon & Schuster (Pocket Books Division) and licensed and translated into Japanese by the DHC Corporation, Tokyo. Vargo is the author of several articles that have appeared in such journals as the Journal of the American Academy of Behavioral Medicine and the British Journal of Medical Psychology." *
Mr. Vargo is a nonfiction writer whose books explore subjects of historical and political interest. In December 2012, McFarland and Company will publish his fifth book, Women of the Resistance: Eight Who Defied the Third Reich, a study of eight prominent women who played crucial roles in the underground movements of Palestine, Hungary, Poland, Germany, and other nations during World War II.
Currently, he is writing The Mossad Casebook, a compilation of covert missions performed by the controversial intelligence agency of the State of Israel.
