The author has the experience of teaching and assessing schooled Malay ranges from O-level Express and Normal Academic as well as Normal Technical befitting the Cambridge Examination Syndicate for secondary school. The areas of Malay assessment partaken by the author includes written, oral and listening. The author performed for drama assessment (with two others), Malay language acquisition, pastoral care, citizenry development as well as fund raising purposes. The author's research areas include written Malay Grammar as well as performing pedagogy; aspects of both are published in book-length. Another area of interest is online learning, findings of which were shared in three academic meetings in Leiden, Bangkok and Singapore. The author's second book is written in Malay: Semiotik Persembahan Wacana due in April 2009 with Penerbit Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur.
