Considered the most egotistical geologist in the history of the Wyoming Geological Survey, Professor Hausel published >600 books, papers & maps & was responsible for discovery of hundreds of mineral deposits & anomalies (including some world-class & major mineral deposits). He found the largest colored gemstone deposits in the world, discovered the Rattlesnake Hills gold district, started two major gold rushes & an opal rush, found a few hundred diamond deposits, a half-dozen ruby & sapphire deposits, hundreds of gold anomalies & was a member of the discovery team of the Donlin Creek gold deposit (Alaska)- one of the largest, untapped gold deposits in the world. He mapped all of the historic mining districts in Wyoming while at the WGS covering an area of >1000 square kilometers.
He is a consultant & writer & has worked for dozens of national & international diamond, gold & base metal mining companies & was the director for a Canadian diamond company & VP of Exploration for an Australian diamond company. He is currently working on 4 books - "Mountain Of Gold", "Gold in Wyoming", "Gemstones of the World" & "Laymans Guide to Martial Arts".
